Heat Transfer Laboratory was established in the year 1994, with the equipment’s like Heat Exchanger, Thermal Conductivity Measurement Apparatus, Pin Fin Apparatus, Forced Convection Apparatus, Natural Convection Apparatus, Emissivity Measurement Apparatus, Stefan Boltzmann Apparatus and Heat Pipe Apparatus. Recently it is equipped with FLIR E5 thermal imaging Infrared camera, for the measurement of temperatures between -200C to 2500 C. It is a non-contact temperature measuring device that can be used in the areas of Energy Management and HVAC. FLIR was the pioneer in the infrared imaging cameras. 
FLIR E5 has an IR resolution of 120 x 90 pixels, with focal plane array detector which is capable of measuring the temperature range of -200C to 2500 C with an accuracy of + 2 0 C. It has a 3” color display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution. It also has emissivity correction factor which can be varied from 0.1 to 1.
