Thermal Laboratory

Thermal Laboratory

Thermal Engineering is broad field of engineering that encompasses technologies dealing with heating and cooling systems, transfer of heat, fluid mechanics and Instruments that control temperature are essential in many areas, including the electric power industry; the automobile industry; and the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. The objective of this laboratory is to provide the student a good environment to understand some very significant concepts and applications in the field of IC engines and refrigeration. Using a combined approach of theoretical analysis, numerical calculations and experimental investigations, the thermal laboratory aims to develop new or advanced knowledge for application in industrial design. The laboratory is located in the Mechanical Engineering block of the laboratory complex. The laboratory is supported with a laboratory in charge and two instructors who are responsible for all the day to day activities of the laboratory. If the student has any clarifications he need to address it to the staff or the instructors.
